Size Control

The purpose of size control or granulation is the process of separating solid particles based on their size into two or more products. Size control can be done dry or wet.

Size control functions

  • Preventing large pieces of feed and blocking the next step of crushing (scalping)
  • Preventing the transfer of smaller pieces to the next stage of shredding (circuit sizing)
  • Production of a product with specific granularity

Different size control methods

There are two main methods of size control:
Trimming: Used with geometric shapes to control size.
Classification: Particle movement is used to control its size.
